Scott Hillier

Biography

Scott has gained international recognition with his strong producing, directing, cinematography and writing portfolio developed over 25 years.
Scott started his career in Australia before becoming a war cameraman for the BBC working in dozens of war zones including Bosnia, Iraq, Somalia and Tchetchnyia. He then began making documentaries, dramatic films and commercials and to date he has worked in more than 45 countries around the world.
Scott combines the intellectual integrity of an award-winning documentary filmmaker with strongly developed storytelling techniques and an always innovative creative approach to his projects.
Scott studied film at the London Film and Television School and New York University, as well as writing at Columbia University in New York City.

DRAMATIC FILMS
Scott’s dramatic films include BEHIND THE EYES OF WAR (winner Best Dramatic Short at New York Independent Film and Television Festival) and SECOND GENERATION (shown at The Long Island International Film Festival and The Raindance Film Festival).  He also photographed PROKALO, a Roman tragedy.
DOCUMENTARIES
Scott’s documentary work includes TWIN TOWERS (winner of Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject, 2003).  He has directed and produced documentaries for the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Channel 4, ESPN Films and 03 Productions in Dubai.
NEWS & CURRENT AFFAIRS
Scott has worked on hundreds of news and current affairs reports for The BBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, SAT 1, ZDF and France 24.
TV SERIES
Scott has worked on television series and documentaries, including shows for the BBC, HBO, CBS, NBC, PBS and TLC.
